aNchored pump

D day has finally arrived.... well, not exactly.. for those nursing mums, you will truly understand how inconvenient to pump@ work and having to carry the heavy duty pump (twin electric, no joke) to and fro work. I'm using medela twin pump since the day i started breastfeeding Carmel. I pumped once at work during lunch time and below was a signage that I sticked onto the meeting room door so that Sylvia and I can pump in private. We were pumping consistently for almost 5 months at work. Finally, I decided to try to cut down the no of pump each day, from 3x to 1x and finally every few days.

27 Nov'07 is d day that I do not have to bring my pump to work anymore! I felt 'carefree' without a burden on my shoulders. Even though I'm still producing milk, I'm glad I no longer tied to the 3x per day pump schedule and to be able to sleep slightly longer, it has to be MY privilege to allow a mere 15 mins more of sleep every morning (wakes up at 6:30am each weekday!)

My emotions were of mixed feelings. Despite the tiredness, I do enjoy breastfeeding and every moment of close bonding with Carmel, is worth all the trouble!
I do encourage all mothers to breastfeed. It's a gift from God and from you to your precious little one!
