Hi blog
Goodbyes 2009, welcome 2010! I didnt realise my last post was in May'09! Things have moved on pretty smooth sailing and Carmel has aquired attained many development milestones.
Sometimes I wonder how to teach him in terms of knowledge and moral values, not an easy task. Things that he saw and his little curiousity mind has helped him alot, always asking questions "why why why"..
Going to school (playgroup) is a routine now, waking up at 630am to prepare his milk, change diaper/clothes, getting ready to go to work etc and drove off 30-45mins every morning, travelling half of singapore and still be alert at work. Is that a typical lifestyle of a working parent? I wonder where is the quality of life = $ ? I'm not even sure if i can be a 24/7 mum and still be sane... who knows if i havent try right?
I hope this new year is a fruitful year!

Say a little prayer for me & you
Little Carmel's words chest has improved tremendously for the past weeks. His chatty words sometimes surprises me and I wonder when did he get those.
Last sun, we all make it a point to rest early cos next day is a start of the work week. As we finished our usual bedtime stories, we said our little prayers before we sleep or rather I will usually say out loud a simple prayer to God for protection and blessings. Yes, he understood "protect"! To our little surprises, for the first time, he prayed! In his soft and baby tone, he said "God to protect mummy, daddy, ye ye, nai nai......." on hearing that my jaw was wide open in amazement!
I thanked God for all his blessings that he gave us a healthy and happy boy.

An Unpleasant infection
Well I thought I could blog about happiness raising my little boy but this is first visit to KK A&E days ago..
Last Fri, Carmel became feverish and we skipped cell group so that he can rest early and recover from fever. Somehow we have never expected that he got some virus God knows from where (airborned, contacts gosh!) it was hell to begin with.. worries upon worries to keep his high fever down at one time i went up to 38.6 degree.. we decided to go to KK Children Clinic as our family doc was closed. Doc diagnosed as some virus and gave medicines to subside the fever.
3 days later, to my horror i discovered ulcers and blisters in his mouth! I suspected it cos he told me "pain pain" when I gave him food and he refused to eat anything... poor boy! We went back to KK for more consultation. Doc required him to do a blood test and my heart sank to the ocean! How I wish I am the one sufferring! Sigh but thankfully, it was a quick procedure and wasnt that scary as I would imagine a needle poking through his fragile, tiny arm. It was a prick on the index finger and the nurse tried to squeeze out as much blood sufficient to do the test.
Phew! What a relief that the results denied any serious life threatening diseases such as HFMD or Dengue..
Well this is part & parcel of being a mother, in sickness & in health.
